How to achieve same sex marriage rights without resorting to emotion

glbti

My parents have been married a long time. Nearly 26 years. I hope one day to be able to join them in this endeavour and be married to my partner for that long.

But I can’t.

Because I’m gay and gays in Australia can’t get married.

Fighting back against the perils of debt

Reposted from here with permission from the original authour. I thought this was a great idea for an online store to do. They also have a layby feature where you can put a deposit on their clothing and pay the order off over time. Read about it here.

Scared of change? Don’t leave your house

glbti

I often wonder how many people who are against concepts like same sex marriage or transgender children are against them not because they are bigots but simply because they won’t be able to handle change.

Step by step guide to creating an anti-vaccination network

Since I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, woo, quackery, psychics or anti-vaccinators (anti-vaxxors), I thought I would repost this blog to help people get a better understanding of how these types of misinformation spreads and gets out of control. The scoiology of the anti-vaxxor movement can be applied to any movement that is based on conspiracy theory with a heavy anti-science base.

Enjoy. I’m off to play Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines for the millionth time.

Myths on lesbian sex

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about how lesbians have sex and accusations that I’m not a real lesbian since I own sex toys. I thought I would repost this very articulate in-depth slightly naughty article as a middle finger towards those who try to police my sexuality. Original article.

TRIGGER WARNING: Some very naughty words and/or concepts.

Keep your politics out of my sexuality

For Him Magazine: Failing young men since 1985

A while back I did a review on the pile of fail that is Cosmopolitan Magazine. The general consensus on the magazine was that not only were the editors and writers completely out of their mind but the magazine is as damaging to women as it is to men. The magazine has this horrifying issue of teaching young women that their role in life is to find a man, keep a man, please their man and stroke his ego and make him feel manly. It also has this horrifying issue of teaching young men that they should be nothing more than sex crazed emotionless robots whose egos are so fragile that they need a woman to stroke it at every opportunity so they feel like a man least they fall apart in a crying heap.

Internet courage and a simple recapping of ideas

11320_340

I don’t find it very surprising that I haven’t gotten any backlash on my blog for my articles “Radical feminism is a danger to women“, “Feminism needs to include men to obtain equality for all” and “Queer hypocrisy: the angriest of them all“. It is quite evident that people are rarely brave in real life when it comes to standing up for what they believe in or standing by their viewpoints so they turn to the internet.  How many people have you met that have said something homophobic only to retract it with cries of  “That’s not what I meant!” two seconds after they get called out on it? Courage behind a computer monitor.  Well I’m going to expand on that theory.

People are only brave on the internet when it is away from the original source they are bitching about.

Radical feminism is a danger to women

11320_340

I’ve met some hypocrites in my time. We all know how I feel about hypocrites, especially those within the queer community and those who claim moral superiority over others. Women who call themselves prolife and advocate to make abortion illegal while at the same time get abortions themselves annoy me. But by far the most infuriating, ignorant, hypocritical community I have ever come across is the radical feminist community.
