A letter to my fellow queers. You are powerful.

The TERF brigade changes the meaning of consent

Trigger warning: The following screenshot features transphobia, lies, appeals to emotion, scaremongering and is generally insulting to people who have common decency and decorum. Further trigger warning: Talk of genitalia and surgery.

Unpacking TERF arguments – nothing more than conspiracy theorist bunkum

I’ve blogged about this numerous times but I need to unpack the sheer ludicrousness of TERF arguments, just so I can understand them a little better.

Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism ideology – one massive logical fail

rainbowbanner

There are several things I can’t wrap my head around in regards to Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism. As a cisgendered lesbian, I’m never going to have the same experience a transgendered person does. My gender identity aligns with my sex assigned at birth – however just because I haven’t experienced a misalignment between those two things, doesn’t mean someone else hasn’t and just because I myself am not transgender – that doesn’t mean I can’t find the following views to be discriminatory and utterly vile.

Kevin Rudd’s sister, Loree Rudd, hasn’t been in the media spotlight for 5 minutes which has prompted her to say something utterly stupid in an attempt to have the bright light of public scrutiny focused on her again. She must be feeling unloved.

How to get married if you’re a same sex couple in Australia

same-sex-marriage-live-blog-0327-horizontal-gallery

So my partner and I have been in a relationship for ages now and have decided we want to get married, like a large majority of couples do. We both have our dream ceremonies that involve being in a registrar’s office, dressed all fancy because we’re both too lazy to plan and implement a massive ceremony, we’re both not religious so we want a secular ceremony and I have massive issues about being thrown into the spotlight and having everyone look at my large arse walking down an aisle. I don’t like being the center of attention but I do like my large butt.

So a ceremony in front of a judge and a few witnesses it is then.

Fuck me, what a day.

Seriously.

So I find a message from my partner telling facebook she got off the phone to a broker at her work, who went on a big antigay diatribe on the phone while she was trying to get him to do his job. I don’t know the specific outcome of the phone conversation but I really hope it went something along the lines of “Sir, your views are noted, my same sex wife and I will be happy to pass that along to the gay mafia”.

And then this happens on an atheist forum of all places:

Drunkingly adopting children, the new frontier

It really annoys me when people say that gays and lesbians shouldn’t be able to adopt, foster or have IVF treatments or have children in any way.

How to achieve same sex marriage rights without resorting to emotion

My parents have been married a long time. Nearly 26 years. I hope one day to be able to join them in this endeavour and be married to my partner for that long.

But I can’t.

Because I’m gay and gays in Australia can’t get married.

Scared of change? Don’t leave your house

I often wonder how many people who are against concepts like same sex marriage or transgender children are against them not because they are bigots but simply because they won’t be able to handle change.

Once again there are morons on Twitter who deserve to be mocked relentlessly because they seem to think their public forum discussions are protected by free speech and by “free speech” they think no-one can disagree with them.

Yeah well, when your general arguments are lower than your shoe size, mocking is all I have because logic sure as shit doesn’t work on these people.

I’m tweeting on Twitter as one does watching the feminist debates and radfem stupidity when I come across this article by Cathy Brennan. Cathy is a political lesbian (whatever the fuck that means) who seems to have some issues with other lesbians.

Rayne’s favourite crazy homophobe Mr Henry Makow Ph.D

20131226-120649.jpg

With the massive amounts of homophobic bullshit in the media lately from politicians and other random individuals who have potentially been dropped on their heads at birth, I’d thought I’d do a blog post on my favourite deluded homophobe, one Mr Henry Makow Ph.D. Henry Makow is an out and proud homophobic misogynist who I sincerely hope is unmarried. He helps run a website entitled “Save The Males”. Mr Makow believes a hidden hand is shaping modern history according to a long-term occult conspiracy agenda.

Helping youth at-risk isn’t offensive, unless they’re GLBTI youth

One would think that an organisation that assists youth at-risk of homelessness and abuse would be considered a positive force for good in society.

Apparently not if it’s an organisation that caters to GLBTI youth at-risk.

Then it’s considered offensive.

Yes Melissa Dereberry, there are gays and we can tell you how to speak to your children

rainbowbanner

The internet has exploded over the last few days when theantibogan posted the following article entitled “The Day I Had to Tell My Daughter About Unnatural, Abnormal Homosexuals”. For those of my readers who don’t know the back story, the above article is a response to an article posted by a blogger named Melissa Dereberry an individual who seems to have an avid fear and/or inability to talk to her children about diversity within the wider community. This inability to talk to her children has prompted her to write this article blaming gays for her inability to talk to her tiny humans. Apparently her solution is for gays to be gays inside their homes and not in public so she doesn’t have to speak to her children but I’ll let you, my readers read her opinion for yourselves. The following link is a google web cache of the original article as she has since taken it down and revamped her blog but google being google – never ever forgets.

The only moral bigotry is my bigotry – Queer Tumblr edition
