Quick thought

Have you ever noticed that the langauge around being fat is different for men and women? Men get terms like “King Size’ and “Big and Tall” when their sizes go past an Extra Large. Women get “Plus Size” when their size goes past a Large. While women get shamed for being larger, men are made to feel “big and tall” and like “kings”

What I would say to creationists if I was more of a dick

This is how I feel about creationists and anti-vaccination promoters a lot of the time. It’s rude, it’s insulting and fuck it’s worth it.

More reasons I’m not a theist

Atheism

I’ve come to the conclusion that I will never ever be arrogant enough to be a theist. I’m simply incapable of getting my head around the thought that the entire universe with all its galaxies and planets was built entirely for one species – humans.

How to achieve same sex marriage rights without resorting to emotion

glbti

My parents have been married a long time. Nearly 26 years. I hope one day to be able to join them in this endeavour and be married to my partner for that long.

But I can’t.

Because I’m gay and gays in Australia can’t get married.

Fighting back against the perils of debt

Reposted from here with permission from the original authour. I thought this was a great idea for an online store to do. They also have a layby feature where you can put a deposit on their clothing and pay the order off over time. Read about it here.

I often wonder how many people who are against concepts like same sex marriage or transgender children are against them not because they are bigots but simply because they won’t be able to handle change.

What I regret about being childfee

20130226-004221.jpg

The amazing Juliewashere posted a new blog here asking her readers what they regret the most about being childfree. I thought I would respond with my own answer. My answers are strickingly simialiar to hers becase – we’re childfree by choice, a choice which isn’t made lightly and while some people regret their choices, you’d be hard pressed to find a childfree person that has interacted or grown up around children who regrets their choice to be childfree. Brace yourselves – sarcasm is coming.

Happy Holidays is offensive to some

One thing I’ve noticed, which I find very strange is the rates of people religious and non-religious (especailly non-religous people) who get offended when I don’t reply “Happy Easter” or “Merry Christmas” to them. I mean they get really offended to the point where they will repeat saying “Happy Easter” or “Merry Christmas” over and over pointedly as a passive-aggressive way of getting me to reply in the same way.

Step by step guide to creating an anti-vaccination network

Since I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, woo, quackery, psychics or anti-vaccinators (anti-vaxxors), I thought I would repost this blog to help people get a better understanding of how these types of misinformation spreads and gets out of control. The scoiology of the anti-vaxxor movement can be applied to any movement that is based on conspiracy theory with a heavy anti-science base.

Enjoy. I’m off to play Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines for the millionth time.

Questions for people against same sex marriage

glbti

Once again there are morons on Twitter who deserve to be mocked relentlessly because they seem to think their public forum discussions are protected by free speech therefore no-one can disagree with them.

Yeah well, when your IQ and general arguments are lower than that of a young earth creationist, mocking is all I have because logic sure as shit doesn’t work on these people.

Myths on lesbian sex

I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about how lesbians have sex and accusations that I’m not a real lesbian since I own sex toys. I thought I would repost this very articulate in-depth slightly naughty article as a middle finger towards those who try to police my sexuality. Original article.

TRIGGER WARNING: Some very naughty words and/or concepts.
